What is good about this day?

“…it is finished…” – John 19:24.

Jesus was on a mission when he came on this earth, he left heaven and came down on this earth, to fulfil the fathers will and the task assigned to Him by God the father. Jesus lived on this earth for almost 33 years giving us an example of how to live under the obedience of God the father, He was always obedient to the father when He lived on this earth.

The father loved mankind ‘His creation’ and wanted to save His creation from perishing because of sin. Sin had become a barrier between God the father and mankind, Jesus took the sins of mankind upon Him and died on the cross as a sacrifice so that mankind, the creation of God can be once again free of sin as it was created to be. By the sacrifice of Jesus, we are once again sinless and heirs to the kingdom of God. The words of Jesus from the cross “It is finished” before his last breath, signify that the task assigned by God was completed and He had done His job. Because of this day, we are able to reconcile with the father once again. Jesus died, but by His death, He has saved the entire mankind and that is the good thing about this day.

God loves you.

Change your lifestyle

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed.” – Mark 1:35.

Are you facing challenges today or feeling overwhelmed by your circumstances? Perhaps what you see on the outside doesn’t match what God has placed on the inside of you. The key is: don’t sit around in self-pity, depressed or discouraged. Go out and find someplace you can pray and connect with Almighty God. Go to the park and watch the sunset. Look up at the stars and think about His goodness. Take a break from the environment that seems to be holding you back. Find a place that inspires you, a place where you can meditate on His Word and let your faith be elevated. Stay in a good, Bible-based church where people are going to build you up and not tear you down; a place where people are going to challenge you to rise higher and become all that God has created you to be.

I know people who get home from work every night and watch the same depressing TV shows week after week. Don’t let that be you! If you’re going to enlarge your vision, you’ve got to get out of a limited environment. Put yourself in an atmosphere of victory and success and move forward in the good things God has prepared for you.

Good Friday and Resurrection day

“The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised” – Luke 9:22.

Good Friday and Resurrection day have their own importance to the human race irrespective of religion. Good Friday signifies the death of Jesus on the cross, when he bore our sins upon himself, so that we may be set free from all our sins and iniquities and get reconciled with God the father. For forgiveness of sins, you need a self-realization of sins, self-confession of sins to God and sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins. The role of sacrifice was played by Jesus on the cross, hence if we believe that Jesus died for our sins, then we experience the forgiveness of sins in our life. You need not be a Christian to experience the act of forgiveness, it is a sacrifice from God towards all mankind.

As mentioned in the scriptures, Jesus died on the cross, was buried in a tomb and on the third day he rose again. In the process, he conquered death or had a victory over death. This means, death is not an ultimate destiny in the life of people, there is life beyond death for those who believe. Resurrection day is a celebration for victory over death as achieved by Jesus and we too are going to follow the same, when we would be raised from death and step forward humbly in the presence of God the father.

Believe in the unseen!

“I lift up my eyes to the hills…” – Psalms 121:1

So many people today are stuck in a rut. It’s not because they aren’t talented; it’s not because they don’t have God’s favor, but it’s because their vision is limited. They can’t see beyond their circumstances. They don’t see themselves accomplishing their dreams, being promoted or living healthier. They just see more of the same because it’s what they are focused on. What you see is what you’re going to move toward. The truth is, we all have vision. Every one of us has a picture in our mind of our self, our family and our future. The question is, what does your picture look like? Do you see yourself rising higher, overcoming obstacles, living an abundant life? Do you dare to dream beyond your circumstances?

Today, why don’t you change your focus? Lift your eyes beyond your circumstances. Get a higher dream, a greater vision for your life. See yourself the way God sees you and move forward in the abundant life He has prepared for you.

Before creation

“For he chose us in him before the creation of the world…” – Ephesians 1:4

Did you know that God chose you before the foundations of the earth? Before the worlds were ever formed, He knew you. And, He didn’t create you to be average. He didn’t create you to barely get by. No, He created you to excel! Not only has He chosen you, but He has equipped you with everything you need to live and thrive in this life. He has deposited seeds of greatness inside every person. But in order to tap into those seeds of greatness, you have to believe this and act on it.

Too many people today are going around with low self-esteem, feeling inferior like they don’t have what it takes. But that is living a lie. And as long as we have a poor self-image, we’re not going to experience God’s best. In order to be all that God has called us to be, we have to see ourselves as chosen, valuable and victorious. Today, meditate on this truth. Let it sink down deep into your heart. Let it build confidence and security in you. As you understand your value in the eyes of God, you’ll be empowered to live the life of victory He has prepared for you.
