Beyond Hope

Whom do you know that you think is beyond hope when it comes to salvation? Is there someone you have dropped off of your prayer list because he or she seems to be beyond the reach of God’s grace? Then be encouraged by the personal testimony of one of the most evil and wicked leaders in human history, Nebuchadnezzar.

Nebuchadnezzar was the greatest king of the greatest empire in the world (Daniel 2:37-38). He was the tyrant who threw three Hebrew men into the fiery furnace when they refused to bow to his image (Daniel 3:13-23). And he is the ruler Saddam Hussein said he wanted to be like. This same Nebuchadnezzar was converted! And he wrote down his testimony as a witness not only to the world of his day, but also to future generations. “I was restored to my throne and became even greater than before. Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble” (Daniel 4:36-37).

Would you take a few minutes now to thank God for what He did for Nebuchadnezzar of old? Would you now thank God for what He has done for you, how He has done it, and why? Make time today to write down your personal testimony about the good things God has done in your life, it would encourage you as well as, be a witness to those who may read it, including future generations of children and grandchildren. Then, persevere in prayer for your Nebuchadnezzar.

Beyond Your Expectation

“When you came down long ago, You did awesome deeds beyond our highest expectations…” – Isaiah 64:3-4

God wants to exceed your highest expectations! He wants to bless you and increase you. He wants to make you more effective in your job, relationships and everything you set your hand to. The key is to expect to see His goodness. So many people today have misplaced expectations because they look to the news, the economy or other people to set the tone for their day. One thing I’ve learned in life is that if you expect the worst, you won’t be disappointed. But if you expect to see God’s goodness, you won’t be disappointed, either.

Today set your expectations on God. Focus your heart and mind on Him. Meditate on His Word and sing a song of praise. As you do, you’ll see His goodness, and He will do awesome deeds beyond your highest expectations!
