Season of Faith

“Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!”…”Do not be afraid Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus”.- Luke 1:28 – 31.

This was the message brought by the angel Gabriel to Mary which was from God. When Mary got the message she responded saying “Let it be to me according to your word”.

In our life we come across many such occasions where there are crucial decisions to be taken, in such occasions it depends whether we depend on our knowledge or on the faith in God. Decisions taken by knowledge may benefit the immediate consequences, but decisions taken by faith have a longer impact.

Mary was aware of the consequences, if she had to go on a trail because of her decision, she would be stoned to death as per the law that was applicable at that time. However she chose to go by faith in God which was stronger and because of her faith, the fate of mankind has been changed forever.

In this season, let’s think about such opportunities that come our way and make the decisions by faith rather than considering the consequences.

Increase your Faith

“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God”

Did you know that your faith in God can grow and increase every single day? Notice today’s scripture doesn’t say, “Faith comes because you have heard the Word of God one time.” No, it says that “faith comes by hearing”–in the present tense.

Sure, God’s Word can transform us in an instant; but most of the time, we need to hear God’s principles over and over again before they become active in our lives. God’s truth sets us free and puts His plan for our lives into motion. As you study the Word of God, it chisels away at the doubt and unbelief that’s been built up over the years. And, just as a seed needs water to grow daily; your spirit needs the Word of God daily. The more you hear God’s promises, the more you know Him, and the more confidence you will have to believe His word.

I encourage you to choose a few verses to meditate on daily. Write them down and carry them in your purse or wallet. The more you hear the Word of God, the more your faith will grow, and you will move forward in the freedom and victory He has for you.

Faith is what we need

A man was being chased by a tiger. He ran as hard as he could until he was at the edge of a cliff with the tiger in hot pursuit. The man looked over the edge of the cliff and saw a branch growing out of the side of the cliff a few feet down. He jumped down and grabbed the branch just as the tiger reached the cliff. The tiger growled viciously as the man sighed a great sigh of relief.

Just then a mouse came out from a crevice and began to chew on the branch. The man looked down to what was a drop of a thousand feet and sure death and looked to the heavens and yelled out, “Dear God, if you are there, please help. I will do anything you ask but please help.” Suddenly a voice came booming down from heaven, “You will do anything I ask?” it questioned. The man shocked to hear a reply to his plea yelled back, “I will gladly do anything you ask, but please save me.” The voice from heaven then replied, “There is one way to save you but it will take courage and faith.” The branch began to weaken from the mouse and the tiger was still growling a few feet above the man, “Please, Lord, tell me what I must do and I will do it. Your will is my will.” The voice from heaven then said, “All right then, let go of the branch.”

The man looked down to a fall of a thousand feet and certain death. He looked up at the hungry tiger a few feet away and he looked at the mouse still chewing on the branch. Then he looked up at the heavens and yelled, “Is there anyone else up there?”…

…The story pictures more of our lives, why? Because we always ask God if what is the best thing that we can do and when He give the answers what we always do is we still seek for other, it simply means that we say that we do believe in God but the truth is we do not. That is our main problem, we DO NOT trust in God fully. Faith is what we need in this life, let us pray that God help us to put our main trust to Him, only to HIM.

Chose Faith Today

“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” – Joshua 1:9

Did you know that fear works just like faith but in the opposite direction? In the same way that faith opens the door for God to work in our lives; fear opens the door for the enemy to work in our lives.

The Bible says that fear has torment. Fear has no mercy. If you act on fear instead of acting on faith, it will keep you depressed, miserable and lonely. And so many people today are missing out on God’s joy, peace, and victory because they keep giving in to fear. They feed fear by what they watch on TV or read in the news or on the internet. Don’t let that be you! Romans tells us that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. The more you fill your heart and mind with God’s Word, the stronger your faith will be so you can stand against the powers of darkness. Choose faith instead of fear by choosing God’s Word.

Remember, the power that is in you is greater than the power of fear. When thoughts come that say, “You’re not able”, choose faith by saying, “I can do all things through Christ!” Choose faith today so you can overcome fear and live in the freedom God has in store for you!
