Always on His Mind

“How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!” – Psalm 139:17

“How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!” – Psalm 139:17

Have you ever had difficulty receiving from God because you thought, “God has better things on His mind,” or “This isn’t that important to Him”? It may be tempting to let your mind wander in that direction, but the truth is that nothing is more important to God than you are! Every detail of your life matters to Him. Scripture tells us that He even counts the very hairs on your head. He bottles your tears and holds them as precious. You are important to Him, and nothing that concerns you is too big or too small for God!

Today, if you’ve had those discouraging thoughts come to mind, replace them by declaring the truth of God’s Word. Declare, “God’s thoughts are precious toward me. I am always on God’s mind. He loves me and I matter to Him.” As you begin to replace the negative thoughts with the truth, your life will begin to change. You will see a transformation in your thinking. You’ll feel His love like you never have before; you will know Him in ways you’ve never known Him before, and you’ll experience His goodness and grace all the days of your life!

It’s All in Your Mind

“Do not be conformed to this world (this age), but be transformed (changed) by the renewal of your mind…” – Romans 12:2

Many people today don’t realize that the reason they’re not happy, the reason they’re not enjoying life is simply because they’ve trained their minds in the wrong direction. They’ve trained their minds to worry. They’ve trained their minds to complain. They’ve trained their minds to see the negative. But just as you can form these negative mindsets, you can retrain your mind according to the Word of God and form godly mindsets.

I believe one of the main keys to retraining your mind and developing a positive attitude is by learning to stay grateful. When you stay grateful, you are focusing on what’s right rather than what’s wrong. The seed of the Word takes root in the good ground of your heart. This doesn’t happen automatically, you have to discipline yourself. You have to make a conscious effort every single day until a good habit is formed.

Remember, when you live with an attitude of praise and thanksgiving, you are shielding yourself from the attacks of the enemy. The seeds of discouragement cannot take root in a grateful heart. Neither can bitterness, envy or strife. So today, retrain your mind and be empowered with His strength to overcome in every area of your life!

Age, a State of Mind

Much more important than adding years to your life, is to add life to your years.

Age is a quality of mind–
If you have left your dreams behind,
If hope is lost,
If you no longer look ahead,
If your ambitions’ fires are dead–
Then you are old.

But if from life you take the best
And if in life you keep the jest,
If love you hold–
No matter how the years go by,
No matter how the birthdays fly,
You are not old!

Whatever He Says

“…Whatever He says to you, do it” – John 2:5

When Jesus performed His first miracle, He was at a wedding celebration. His mother knew that in order to see His power at work, there was one key: “Whatever He says, do it.” It’s the same way with us today, our obedience opens the door to see His power manifest in our lives. The Scripture says, “If we are willing and obedient, we will eat the good of the land.” In other words, we’ll experience God’s abundant blessing when we follow His commands.

Oftentimes, we may be so focused on the thing we believe for that we overlook simple obedience in other areas. For example, you may need a financial miracle. Maybe you’re tithing and sowing seed like you should, but are you holding unforgiveness toward someone? Is there something else you know you should do?

Today, ask the Lord to search your mind and heart. Don’t let anything block His power. Whatever He says, do it and watch that obedience open the door to His blessing in every area of your life!

Set your Mind Higher

“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things” – Colossians 3:2

Sometimes when people look toward the future, they don’t see how they will ever rise higher or fulfill their destiny. That’s because they are looking at things in the earthly, or natural, realm. But if we’ll set our minds higher, if we’ll set our minds on things above, we will have a different perspective.

The Scripture says in Second Corinthians that we walk by faith and not by sight. In other words, we have to believe it before we’re ever going to see it. When we set our minds higher, we walk by faith. We see things God’s way. But when we walk by what we see in the natural realm, we can easily allow circumstances and fear to keep us from moving forward.

Make the decision today to set your mind on things above. Focus on the good things God has in store. Be determined to close the door on fear and doubt and choose to listen to that inner prompting of the Holy Spirit. As you walk and live by faith, you’ll see His promises come to pass, and you’ll move forward into the destiny He has prepared for you!
