He Holds the Keys

“I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades” – Revelation 1:18

Have you ever been locked out of your car or house? It can be very frustrating and inconvenient. Not having the right keys can keep you stuck and unproductive. It steals your time and can steal your peace and joy if you let it.

On a spiritual level, we need keys to access what God has for us—eternal life, peace, freedom, and blessing. But we don’t have to stand on the outside and be frustrated because the good news is, Jesus holds the keys, and He has opened the way for us to walk from death to life. We don’t have to live in defeat, mediocrity, sickness, sin, or any kind of bondage any longer. We have access to the abundant life Jesus came to give!

Today, if you feel stuck, locked out, or defeated; remember, Jesus is the one who holds the keys. All you have to do is call on His name and He will answer. He promises to hear you and will deliver you! Call on His name today and receive the salvation and deliverance He has already prepared for you!

A Door of Opportunity

“I know all the things you do, and I have opened a door for you that no one can close” – Revelation 3:8

I believe that God is ready to present you with new opportunities. He wants to open new doors before you. It doesn’t matter what’s happening in the world around you, God’s Word remains true!

Remember, in an instant, God can bring the right people into your life, the right opportunities, and the right resources to take you to a whole new level. But in order to go to a higher level, you have to have a higher way of thinking. You can’t allow worry and fear to fill your thoughts because fear actually blocks the door of God’s blessing. Instead, fill your mind with the Word of God. Let His truth empower you because His ways are always higher than our ways; and I believe that even now, He is working behind the scenes on your behalf!

Today, choose to keep an attitude of faith and expectancy. Begin to thank Him for the opportunities that are just ahead for you. Shut the door on fear and let God lead you by His peace through the door of opportunity He has prepared for you!

Begin Again

“He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new…” – Revelation 21:5

Can you remember the time when you first discovered a big dream in your heart? Maybe you were determined to excel in your career, or excel as a parent; or even excel in your walk with the Lord. You probably started out strong, but maybe things got a little difficult and didn’t happen as quickly as you would have liked. At that point many people decide, “Let’s just settle here. It’s not exactly what we wanted, but at least, it’s good enough.”

Friend, I want to remind you today that you were made for more than good enough! Maybe things haven’t worked out the way you planned, but now is not the time to stop and settle. Now is the time to dig your heals in and begin again. And even if that dream has died—it’s time to dream another dream. God has so much for you in your future.
If you’ve settled in any area of your life, take that first step by declaring, “I am not going to settle for mediocrity. I am made for so much more! Things may be difficult, but I am pressing forward. I’m going to keep believing, and I’m going to make it all the way in to my Promised Land!”

The Word “AMEN”

“For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us” (II Corinthians 1:20).

The word “amen” is a most remarkable word.
It was transliterated directly from the Hebrew into the Koine Greek of the New Testament, then into Latin and into English and many other languages, so that it is practically a universal word.

It has been called the best-known word in human speech.

The word is directly related–in fact, almost identical–to the Hebrew word for “believe” (aman), or “faithful.”
Thus, it came to mean “sure” or truly,” an expression of absolute trust and confidence.

When one believes God, he indicates his faith by an “amen.”
When God makes a promise, the believer’s response is “amen”–“so it will be!”

In the New Testament, it is often translated “verily” or “truly.”

When we pray according to His Word and His will, we know God will answer, so we close with an “amen,” and so also do we conclude a great hymn or anthem of praise and faith.
The word is even a title of Christ Himself.

The last of His letters to the seven churches begins with a remarkable salutation by the glorified Lord:
“These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God” (Revelation 3:14).

We can be pre-eminently certain that His Word is always faithful and true, because He is none other than the Creator of all things, and thus He is our eternal “Amen.”
As our text reminds us, every promise of God in Christ is “yea and amen,” as strong an affirmation of truth as can be expressed in the Greek language.

It is, therefore, profoundly meaningful that the entire Bible closes with an “amen.”

“The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen” (Revelation 22:21),
assuring everyone who reads these words that the whole Book is absolutely true and trustworthy. Amen!

He makes all things New

“And He who is seated on the throne said, ‘See! I make all things new…’ ” – Revelation 21:5

When God puts a dream in your heart, when He puts a promise on the inside of you, He deposits within you everything you need to accomplish that dream. He wouldn’t give you the desire to do something without giving you the ability to fulfill it. In fact, the scripture tells us that God gives us the desires of our heart. In other words, He puts the desire inside of us and then works with us to bring it to pass.

Oftentimes, people set out to accomplish their dreams, but they face a setback or disappointment, and then they feel like their time has passed. But let me tell you today, no matter where you’ve come from, no matter what’s happened in your past, God wants to make you new. He wants to give you a fresh start. If you feel like you’ve missed opportunities in your life, if you feel like your time has passed, remember, today is a new day. You are a new person, and God has new opportunities in store for you. Lift up your eyes of faith and look forward to the new thing God has for you in this New Year!
