Right this Way

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and He delighteth in his way.” – Psalm 37:23

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord! Many people today might find it difficult to see themselves as “good” in the eyes of God, but did you know that in the original Greek, this word means “strong” like a warrior? In other words, when you stand strong, when you are willing to fight the good fight of faith, you are giving God something to work with. He is ordering your steps. He’s making a way when there seems to be no way. He’s clearing a path for you, and He is delighting in you. That means He is pleased with your attitude of courage. He is pleased that you are taking a stand for what is right. He is pleased that you are putting Him first place and relying completely on Him.

Remember, God loves your passion for Him. He loves it when you come boldly to His throne of grace. He is honored when you stand and fight the good fight of faith. If you are facing difficulty today, know that God wants to lift you up and give you His strength. Receive it by faith today. Dig your heels in knowing that He is ordering your steps; and when God is leading you, He’s always leading you in the path of victory!

The Right Kind of Heat

The Right Kind of Fear

Simply put, to fear God means I am one of His children who, out of reverence for my Heavenly Father and His holiness, wants to know that His face is turned toward me in love and that He is smiling on me. I want to do nothing that offends Him or causes me to be under His frown.

That is what our forefathers called “filial fear.” Filial refers to the relationship of a child to his or her parents. This is produced not by a cringing terror of judgment but by the tender love of the Lord. It is knowing that the Holy One has given His only Son for sinners such as I and “causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.” I tremble before the costliness and passion of His love for me.

True, there is a kind of fear that is a fear of judgment. But that is not the relationship the child of God has with the Heavenly Father! Rather, filial fear is the increasing awareness of how much we are loved, coupled with the knowledge that the Lord will not leave us unchanged—His love must possess every part of us!

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction” (Proverbs 1:7).

Right Place, Right Time

“… the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happen to them all”.- Ecclesiastes 9:11

God’s Word tells us that being faster, stronger and wiser does not automatically make you a winner in life. No, it is actually being at the right place at the right time that causes you to receive blessings. And God, who holds time and chance in His hands, is the only one who can put you at the right place at the right time.

He did this for Ruth. She trusted God for favor when she went looking for a field in which to glean. (Ruth 2:2) Then, the Bible tells us that “she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the family of Elimelech”. (Ruth 2:3) Of all the fields in Bethlehem, she happened to end up in Boaz’s field, and he was a close relative of Elimelech, her father-in-law. This meant that Boaz was her potential kinsman redeemer, someone who could redeem her from her plight as a young, childless widow in a foreign land.

Boaz also happened to be “a man of great wealth” (Ruth 2:1), and as it turned out, he was willing to redeem Ruth. (Ruth 4:9–10) All these right happenings could only mean that God had placed Ruth in the right place at the right time.

I believe that the very day Ruth told her mother-in-law that the God of Israel would be her God (Ruth 1:16), God took note of it and made everything happen right for her.

Today, God also wants you to know that because you have said, “God, You are My God,” He will be your God of divine happenings. He will place you at the right place at the right time, where you will meet the right people, do the right things and even escape danger!

You may not know where all the great opportunities are, but God does. He was the one who put in you the skills, talents and gifts that you have, and He knows where you need to be, when you should be there and what you need to be doing to be truly fulfilled!

Make the Right Plans

“May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed” – Psalm 20:4

The Bible tells us that true faith has actions with it. A lot of times people say they believe one way, but with their actions, they’re doing just the opposite. We have to understand that faith will work in either direction. I know some people make plans to get the flu. They talk about it and say, “Every year I get the flu.” Or, “It’s going to be bad this year.” They expect it and a few months later, they’ve got it. Their faith worked. They believed, they expected, they made plans, and they got it. But instead of making plans for the worst, why don’t you make plans for the best. Why don’t you make plans for the Word of God to come to pass in your life? The scripture says, “No weapon formed against us is going to prosper.” “A thousand may fall at my side, ten thousand at my right hand; but it will not come near my dwelling.”

Today, make plans according to the Word of God. As you make right plans, you’ll see right things come to pass in your life. You’ll rise up higher and enjoy the blessings God has in store for you!
