Who am I?

“You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a young man, and he has been a warrior from his youth” – 1 Samuel 17:33

Are you stuck in a rut today because of the negative words that have been spoken over you in the past? In today’s verse, we see that before David faced Goliath, he heard the accusing voices. But instead of listening to what others said, he chose to listen to what God said. He knew he was called, chosen and equipped to defeat that giant; and today, you are called, chosen and equipped for victory, too!

Remember what we need to say every time, “I am who God says I am.” What we’re saying in effect is “I am not who my chemistry teacher says I am.” “I am not who my boss says I am.” “I am not who my critics say I am,” and nowadays, “I am not who the bloggers say I am.” “I am who God says I am.” That means we are anointed. We are equipped. We are talented. We are redeemed. We are blessed. We have the favor of God!

Today, if you’ve been held back by negative words spoken over you, ask yourself, “Who told me I’m not tall enough?” “Who told me I’m just average?” “Who told me that I’m not that talented?” Let go and forgive those people. Stop listening to the wrong voices and take the limits off of your life!

Find a Reason

“For this I will give thanks and extol You, O Lord, among the nation; I will sing praises to Your name” – II Samuel 22:50.

Any time you’re tempted to get discouraged, the quickest way out is to stop focusing on what you don’t have and start thanking God for what you do have. You have to find a reason to be grateful!

Being grateful will lift you out of depression and discouragement. Being grateful can help turn a relationship around. It’s amazing what happens when we stop focusing on somebody’s faults, and instead, we start seeing the good and showing appreciation. People like to be around grateful people. They’re drawn to people who are appreciative and thankful. In fact, being grateful at the office and expressing gratitude to your employer can even help get you a promotion or save your job during a time of layoffs!

I want to encourage you, every morning when you wake up, find a reason to give God thanks. Before you think about your problems, thank God that you are alive! As you find a reason to give thanks, I believe it blesses the heart of God. I believe He’ll pour out more of His favor and blessing and lead you into the destiny He has in store for you!

Who Told You?

“You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a young man, and he has been a warrior from his youth” – 1 Samuel 17:33

Don’t Downplay Your Blessing

“For this I will give you thanks and extol You, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing praises to Your name” – 2 Samuel 22:50

In this life, anytime you begin to succeed and walk in the blessing of God to the fullness, people are going to criticize. People will judge you. People will be jealous. But you know what? That’s their problem. Don’t apologize for what God is doing in your life. When you make excuses for God’s goodness, when you downplay His blessings and favour or call it luck or coincidence, really, that’s an insult to our God. The scripture says in Deuteronomy that “It is the Lord that gives you the power to get wealth.” That means God is the One giving you the ideas. He’s the One that’s giving you the creativity. He’s giving you the strength to succeed. He gave you the favour. He gave you the good breaks. As long as you stay humble and give Him all the credit, you have nothing to apologize for. Our job as believers is to make Him known. We should be examples of His goodness, peace, hope, joy and life.

Today, don’t shrink back from giving God all the credit. Don’t downplay your blessing. Thank Him and praise Him for what He’s doing in your life now and what He will do in your future. Make Him known and give Him all the glory!

What does God Want?

“Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams” (1 Samuel 15:22, NKJV).

Dear Friends,

We may be through with the Christmas day, but the season is still on, Christ came into this world to ensure reconciliation with God and man, Have we ever pondered on what God wants from us even though he has given a great sacrifice.

All we have to do is what the Lord says, even if we think we have a better idea! When we give God the things He has indicated that He wants from us, there is a certain peace that indicates that our sacrifice is acceptable to God. Talk to God about the things you have put on the altar lately. Are these the sacrifices He has asked you for?

… Have we asked the Lord, “What will You have me to do or to give?” … Maybe we dare not ask this for fear that God will want something very close to our hearts. If we dare to get serious about living a life of surrender, it may well mean that our favorite things get placed on the altar. But if they do, there will be such peace in our hearts that we will kick ourselves for not surrendering sooner!
