Get Ready

“Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.”- Ephesians 6:13

God has fully equipped you today with everything you need to stand strong in the midst of any battle you may be facing. He’s provided His full armor to protect your heart and mind, and empower you for victory! Ephesians 6:14–17 tells us about God’s spiritual armor — He’s given us the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith which stops the fiery darts of the enemy, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. You put on the armor by receiving the truth of His righteousness, peace, and salvation through His Word. When you do this, you are fully protected to resist the enemy and stand firm.

Remember, your battle is not against flesh and blood. People aren’t the enemy. Your adversary is the devil. The good news is that God holds victory in store for the upright! As you put on His armor by faith you will be positioned to receive His victory all the days of your life!

The Holy Spirit and Evangelism

“Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect” – 1 Peter 3:15

What role do the Holy Spirit and prayer play in sharing your faith? Nobody will ever come to Christ if the Holy Spirit doesn’t bring about a conviction. You cannot argue anyone into the Kingdom of God. Now, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have good arguments. But only as God the Holy Spirit uses our witness will anyone ever come to Christ.

I think every moment we should be filled with the Holy Spirit by faith, and that is a conscious choice. The Holy Spirit lives within us, but He wants to live out through us. Basically, quenching the Holy Spirit means we’re not doing something the Holy Spirit is leading us to do, while grieving the Holy Spirit means we’re doing something the Holy Spirit is not leading us to do. So, if we’re not quenching or grieving the Spirit, we’re filled with the Holy Spirit. Then prayer. I try to be praying all the time. It’s a constant attitude of prayer with every person I meet, with everything I do. Prayer unleashes the power of God.

The Same Spirit

“And if the Spirit of Him Who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, [then] He Who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you” – Romans 8:11

When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the Bible tells us that the Holy Spirit of God makes His home inside of you. That’s the same Spirit, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. That resurrection power can bring back health, strength and life to your physical body, and it can bring back life to your hopes and dreams. In fact, it can bring life to any area that may seem dormant on the inside of you.

The next time you feel overwhelmed by sickness, challenges or despair, remember, the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you. You may have been burdened by an addiction, fear or worry, but there’s nothing that can stand against the power of God. Rise up and declare by faith, “He whom the Son sets free is free indeed. I am restored and healed in the name of Jesus! No weapon formed against me can prosper!” As you rise up in faith and declare the Word of God, you are activating His power within you, and you are moving forward in the victory He has for you!

Just imagine

“No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit”- Ephesians 3:20

When was the last time you imagined God doing something supernatural in your life? Is there a relationship that needs restoration? Is there a business you’ve wanted to start, but you are holding back? If there were no limitations on your life, if anything were possible, what would you be willing to imagine?

Friend, the only limits on your life are the limits you have in your mind, and God wants to do exceedingly more than you can even imagine today! He wants to overwhelm you with His goodness and amaze you with His faithfulness. But in order for Him to exceed what you’ve imagined, you have to at least be imagining something! Why don’t you take a step of faith today and let your imagination come to life? Begin to see in your mind all the possibilities for your future. Meditate on the amazing things God has done throughout history. Let that seed of faith take root in your heart. Hold on to His promises because He is faithful. He is able to exceed your expectations and go beyond what you can imagine today!

The New Birth

Our Lord Jesus teaches in the third chapter of John that the necessity of the New Birth is universal. In the third verse He says, “Verily, verily I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” (KJV).

Not one single man or woman or child will be able to see the Kingdom of God except they be born from above.

The necessity of the New Birth is not only universal, it is imperative. Our Lord Jesus says to Nicodemus, “You must be born again,” not merely you may be, but “you must be.”

Jesus taught that the necessity of the New Birth is also absolute. Nothing else will take the place of the New Birth.

Why is the New Birth absolutely necessary? Verse 6 tells us why. The reason is because “that which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” All that we can get by our human parentage, no matter how godly or pious or moral or cultured, is that which is natural and not spiritual, and the Kingdom of God is spiritual, hence in order to enter that Kingdom we must be born of the Spirit.
