New Way of Thinking

“And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins” – Mark 2:22.

Are you ready for increase? Are you ready to go to the next level, spiritually, physically, and emotionally? In this passage of scripture, it basically saying that you can’t go to a new level with an old way of thinking. Many people hear the truth that God has more in store and something resonates on the inside. Their spirit comes into agreement with God, but often times, the natural mind will try to talk them out of it. Thoughts will come like, “It’s not going to happen for you. You’re not going to have a great time. You know what the economy is like.” Or, “You’re never going to get well. You saw what the medical report said.” “You’re never going to get married. You’ve been single so long.”

Friend, those are the old wineskins that you have to get rid of. This is a new season. What’s happened in the past is over and done. You may have been through some disappointments, you may have tried and failed, or things didn’t work out. That’s okay. God is still in control. It’s time to get a new vision for your life. It’s time to open yourself to a new way of thinking so that you can receive all the blessings God has in store for you!

Thinking God’s Thoughts

“No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit” – 1 Corinthians 2:11

When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, God’s Spirit becomes one with us and makes His home in us. Because He actually dwells in us, His thoughts and His power dwell in us. One of the ways God empowers us is through our thinking, our imagination. He wants to empower our minds because our thoughts set the direction for our lives. If we think God’s thoughts, we will get God’s results in our lives.

How do we know which thoughts are God’s? Hebrews 4:12 tells us that the Word of God will make it clear. When your thoughts line up with His promises, you can be sure that you are thinking His thoughts!

Today, choose to focus on God’s thoughts. Let Him empower you through your union with Him. Meditate on the Word and confess His promises over your life. As you continue thinking God’s thoughts, you will see God’s results and live the life of victory and blessing He has prepared for you!

Transform Your Thinking

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Romans 12:2).

You life will move in the direction of your most dominant thoughts. You can choose to think according the world’s system or according to God’s system. The world’s system says to “look out for number one,” to do whatever you can to get ahead and make yourself happy. But in God’s system, you find happiness and blessing by serving and putting others first. God doesn’t want us to have an attitude that is self-centered, or jealous, or greedy. He knows that those thoughts end in destruction. God wants us to live a blessed and prosperous life. That’s why the scripture tells us to renew our minds, or transform our thinking. We have to make sure our thoughts are the same as God’s thoughts. Just like a computer, whatever you allow into your mind is what will come out in your attitude and actions. The more you meditate on God’s Word, the more you will transform your thinking to be like God’s thinking. Choose today to focus on the Word of God and allow your mind to be renewed. As you focus on God’s thoughts, you will see your actions become more like Him, and you will see His hand of blessing in every area of your life.
